Qingwen Li, PhD, Professor

Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences

 

Dr. Qingwen Li is now a professor and deputy director of Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She got her B.S. and M.S. in physical chemistry in1987 and 1990 from Xinjiang University and Shandong University, respectively. She obtained her PhD in science from Tsinghua University in 2000. From 2001 to 2008, she worked as post doc. and research associate in Peking university, University of Cambridge and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Her research experience focused on the synthesis and processing of carbon nanotubes for strong and multifunctional fibers. Due to her achievements on carbon nanotubes, she won the Nano 50TM and Micro 25 awards in 2007 (USA) and also the award of excellence by Los Alamos National lab. She joined in Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics at the end of 2007 as a professor of “hundred talent project” supported by Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her current research focus on: 1) continuous growth of carbon nanotubes into multifunctional macroassemblies; 2) selective sorting of single-walled carbon nanotubes for thin film devices; 3) application of sp2 nanocarbon and low-dimensional nanomaterials for functional composites and energy devices. She has published over 280 peer reviewed journal articles and applied more than 50 Chinese patents.
